1976 Scensetters: Hi-Fi 44545.
On the Forever Sindy (no sales) Facebook group Sam Mullins wrote: “I’ve tried to look up the years of the Sindy Scene Setters hi fi and it comes up as 1976. There are two different boxes & looking at the outfits, it looks like there is a 76 box and a 77 box. Does anyone know more info?”
Gus Anita Smith who’s an admin on Forever Sindy (no sales), answered: “Not really my words, it’s an AI answer but here it is -”
1976 Release
– First introduced as part of Sindy’s “Scenesetters” furniture/accessory range.
– Featured a smoked glass lid on the white stereo unit.
– Came with miniature records, tapes, and earphones for play realism.
– Packaging and catalogue photos from 1976 show this darker lid version.
1977 Release
– Pedigree reissued the Hi-Fi system with a clear plastic lid instead of smoked glass.
– The set still included records, tapes, and stereophones, but the promotional photography was updated.
– Collectors note that the box art and catalogue images changed, so two distinct “picture versions” exist depending on the year.
