1982 International Sindy dolls: Active Sindy (Ballerina), 44721.

Internationally the Active Sindy came in her old ballerina outfit only. The glittering new one was not sold outside the UK during 1982.
Active Sindy has long rooted hair (I believe Sindy came in only dark or blond hair) with center part and the classic Sindy ponytail, “Sindy” molded on the back of her head and 033055X below it, underneath the hairline, movable head and neck, movble shoulders, moveable elbows, ‘double jointed’ waist, movable hips, click-click legs and movable ankles.
The bodies made in Hong Kong have Hong Kong marked on the back of the lower waist. The other two body “types” have no markings. The heads of the dolls produced in Hong Kong are harder and smaller than the other’s heads. But all heads have the same markings.
In the International Pedigree catalogue they mention that “Active has a new pack for 1982” and as far as TLSM knows, it would be the Swan Lake box but only with Sindy wearing the old, pink tutu, outfit.

This Sindy doll (not the boxed one) is here at The Little Sindy Museum. She was purchased as an ‘used’ Sindy Active doll. TLSM is not 100% certain the head or body haven’t been switched but, as far as we can tell, it should be the correct doll on the photos below. Click on a photo to see it enlarged!
