Hasbro 1987 Sindy: Ballet Dancer, 8080

Hasbro 1987 Sindy: Ballet Dancer, 8080

No reference numbers are mentioned in the 1987 Hasbro Catalogue but this is the same doll as the year after and there it says:

From the 1988 Hasbro catalogue.

It’s always hard to set a rule of how the Sindy items looked exactly in each year and which precise design the box had. As we know, Pedigree liked to use up materials, body parts and also packages that they still had in their storage, so there can be a lot of variations! But TLSM has tried to find the most common type of it all and this is the conclusion.

Ballerina Sindy has yet a new head mould with her eyes looking directly forward, but still the name Sindy on a raised plate (sometimes hidden in the hairline) on the back of her head. She has long rooted blond hair, with a fringe and a pink feather decoration on her high ponytail. Her body is the same lighter/more beige one, as the 1986 Pedigree Sindy’s. She has double neck joint, “all-rubber arms” with bending elbows, hinged hands, fully poseable waist, click-click knees and bending ankles. She can do split both sideways and back-/frontwards.

This Sindy doll (not the boxed one) is here at The Little Sindy Museum.  She was purchased as an ‘used’ Sindy Active doll. TLSM is not 100% certain the head or body haven’t been switched but, as far as we can tell, it should be the correct doll on the photos below. Click on a photo to see it enlarged!
