As far as TLSM can tell, after checking with a lot of the knowledgeable Sindy collectors, this doll came only as blond. The most common view is that the only Short Haired brunette doll was the Party Girl Sindy from 1983.
Collette Mansell, who wrote the History of Sindy book, says Sunshine Sindy was sold as brunette too. But no one of the collectors has got one that they bought new in box, only blonde dolls. If you have a brunette Sunshine Sindy and bought her new in box from a new toys store, please contact TLSM.

This doll came with short rooted blond hair and a basic body with movable head, movable arms, twist’n’turn waist, movable hips and click-click legs. And like the rest of the 1982 dolls, the bodies can differ depending on production country (Great Britain, Hong Kong or China). The ones made in Hong Kong have Hong Kong marked on the back of the lower waist. The other two body “types” have no markings. The heads of the dolls produced in Hong Kong are harder and smaller than the other’s heads. But all heads are marked with 033055X and Sindy above it, on the back, underneath the hairline.
This is how she is displayed at TLSM.
