Hasbro Sindy 1993: Sindy & Go Go, 18276.

TLSM only has Sindy & Go Go in played with condition but thanks to Vectis Auctions Ltd, you can see how she looked in the box!

Thank you Vectis Auctions Ltd for sharing your photos!

This Sindy is easy to identify even nude in a played with condition since her right hand has a connection where Go Go’s lead is inserted so the dog can “walk”.

I was wondering if Sindy also had some electricity in her body since Go Go’s lead is suppose to be inserted in her right hand. You can see some metal in there and I was thinking there might be some kind of electrical function controlled by the button above her waist on her right side. But this sits absolutely stuck on to Sindy’s body and won’t move when you push it or tries to slide it. Perhaps a “lid” for a battery then?

But it was really hard to open the “lid” and I had to use a lot of force with a tiny screwdriver and the plastic got destroyed. So this can’t be a lid meant to be open up! When I finally got it opened, I couldn’t find any battery or even metal or wires, so I’m still really confused why she has this “lid”…

I asked my lovely Sindytective collegue, Beatrice, to help solve this strange thing. She found an UK advert:

This made us believe that from the beginning it was meant for Sindy to have wires from her hand up through her arm and down to the “button/lid” above her right side waistline. When Go Go’s lead was connected to Sindy’s hand and the human pressed the button on Sindy’s side, Go Go started to walk. But all these wires and the production to make it work must have been way to expensive so Hasbro decided to just keep the connection in Sindy’s hand and just soldering the two shorted wires from her hand together so when the lead is in place, Go Go starts to walk immediately.

Luckily I had an extra doll, in bad condition, so it didn’t hurt as much when my curiosity took over…

Did you play with Sindy & Go Go and remembers how it worked when Sindy walked her dog? Please get in touch and share your childhood memories!

Thank you for your help Beatrice!
