2) Q: How old were you when you got your first Sindy? A: 7 years old
3) Q: What model was your first Sindy? A: She was a second generation
4) Q: What kind of Sindy/Sindy item did you dream about as a kid? A: The house, the four poster bed and all the clothes and lots of ballerinas
5) Q: What kind of Sindy/Sindy item do you dream about now? A: I would love a super sound and or boxed top pops
6) Q: What led you into your Sindy career you have today? A: Lockdown got my childhood sindys restored then I thought surely, it’s something I could do.
7) Q: Can you mention three people you think helped you there? A: I could name loads but to start off with it was certainly Sharon AH who was my first Sindy Buddy. Jo Chafer, Jules Gardner, Jules Gray and Julie Campbell that helped, advised and gave great tips. From then on I have worked with Chrissy Holmes for the rococo theme and she makes fab rococo dresses, fixed at the dolly meet for Bonitas get together, Beccy Dawber is a good dolly chum, Sarah Walby did great stuff too and Erika Pattison was ace at sending you stuff she knew you wanted needed or just craved. There are so many Sindy Buddies I feel I need to mention much more. Linda Butterworth makes the most divine stuff too and I love clothes that are special and unique for my girls. Also, would like to mention Antonia Alvarez her work is exquisite and I love her designs. Also good friends with Michelle Liner any doll or type she creates are just beyond beautiful. I have met so many people overseas too. Dr Sindyfix is a very talented lady (Natayla), Maria Sozopoulou with her beautiful Sindy hands and her Grecian Hellenic costumes, Alexandra Camilleri is a friend for life and will get to Malta soon to see meet her and her family. Hoping to meet Angela from Tasmania end of this month in Lincoln. Back home Bel Pressnell and Jen Jones are so knowledgeable and my go2’s for help ID etc same with Ms Julie Campbell.
8) Q: Do you have a special goal for your Sindy work? A: I would like to do more faces. I have just started on eyes and would like to be more adventurous. I would love to learn how to sow but that will have to wait for retirement and make more wigs and hair pieces
9) Q: Can you mention three people you think of as doll influencers? A: Antonia Alvarez made me fall in love with Florido Sindy, Jo Chafer makes the most stunning ballet outfits and we’ve met a few times for fun and obsessing over vintage looking items and Sharon AH has made me some of the loveliest things and they are all so kind. I also love Dee Pooles creations, in fact there are so many creative talented people out there that I feel I could mention much more! Again, Julie Campbell is always helpful as she is a very long-established doll artist, same goes for Jules Gardener, they share their knowledge and give great tips. The best thing is sharing and helping. I never believed I would be good enough but don’t give up and keep practising, you can always start again..
10) Q: What do you love/like/appreciate about Sindy? A: She makes me escape from the real world and through the people I have met restores my faith in humanity. There are a lot of kind generous people out there with their time and knowledge.
11) Anything else you’d like to share with us? I love dolly mail and love swapping services so I can make a wig if you make me a dress. Kinda thing. I love miniature things too.
Below you can see some of Lucy’s very artistic and beautiful pictures. All owned and photographed by the artist herself, Lucy Aissa Taylor.

TLSM is lucky to have two of Lucy’s wonderful wigs, in house at the museum! Below you can see how you can change the wig’s look by turning them and/or add decoration on them. These photos are taken and belongs to the artist herself!

And just so you know how much Lucy loves colours and details, you can see how beautiful her box that she sent the wigs in, looked! All made and photographed by Lucy!

I was actually amazed that this gorgeous box did arrive safe and unharmed, all the way through the custom and to my mailbox! If I worked at the custom I would’ve immediately opened this one up to check the content. But we were lucky! Below are photos from when I opened it:

Lucy also helped me with this blond Lovely Lively head. Her eye lashes were gone but and her hair very sad looking.

Sometimes Lucy collaborates with Chrissy Roberts known for her “Sindy Fashions by Chrissy” and below you can see Lucy’s wigs, one on a Gauntlet Sindy wearing a Rococo outfit created by Chrissy and another on a Sindy head surrounded by Lucy’s packing supply!

THANK YOU Lucy for your amazing work and for taking the time to answer all the questions!
