In 1983 Pedigree released a new design, on the boxes and such, in different coloured stripes. They did colour coordinate depending which category the items belonged to and also had created a little logo for each category. A great idea, I think!
They also designed a new Sindy logo. I’m sure a lot of people love this design but for me the Sindy heart, in any of the earlier variations, IS Sindy. The same thing regarding the letters/fonts, used for the word Sindy. They tried to keep the same style but something got lost in the transformation, as I see it. I think the idea of making it look like a tag hanging from the boxes is fun but the illustrations on the tag does not apply to my heart. But I know it all depends on what year you played with Sindy as a kid and that for you is the correct version of it all!
Matthew Hadley has written a great article about the Sindy package design and shares it here with TLSM: Sindy – Changing with the times 1983-1986.
Here is the list of Sindy Scenesetters from the 1983 brochure.
